Hi, I’m Maria, the baker behind Bakeshop Pleasures.
Cooking has always been my passion, but baking is where I truly find my joy (cliché, but oh so true). Born into a multicultural family, I've been blessed with a rich tapestry of influences that shaped my love for diverse flavors and culinary traditions. From watching my mom create magic in the kitchen to mastering my first lemon meringue pie in my early teens, my journey into baking began long ago.
After two decades in the corporate world, a move to Chicago sparked the idea of starting my own home bakery. However, the windy city's frequent relocations made it impractical. But it wasn't until my husband and I found our footing in Texas, that Bakeshop Pleasures was born.
My journey has been shaped by a myriad of flavors and influences, but at its core, it's a story of passion and dedication. Each treat on my menu is a labor of love, crafted with care from scratch and attention to detail.
